The K&N air filter is designed to achieve high, virtually unrestricted air flow while maintaining filtration levels critical to ensure long engine life. Their replacement air filters generally add 1-4 horsepower. Their high flow cotton gauze air filter is washable, reusable and built to last for the life of an automotive engine. A K&N air filters consist of four to six sheets of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh. This media is then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall performance. K&N’s Universal Air Filters are built for horsepower..
A replacement air filter is limited by the size of the original air box but once you remove the air box you’ve got plenty of room to work with, now K&N can apply the High-Flow Technology to a large conical open element air filter, providing more surface area for huge increases in airflow that turn into horsepower you can feel. The oversize air filter also captures and holds more dirt. This also increases the service life before a cleaning is required. All filters are constructed with ultra-strong molded pliable rubber flanges which absorb vibration and allow for secure attachment.
K&N High Flow Intake System: As with all our kits, when you bolt-on a car specific high flow intake system, you will notice the difference the next time you drive your vehicle. K&N’s Fuel injection performance kits are a great way to maximize airflow and engine performance. They will replace the factory air box providing both High-Flow air filter technology and a larger air filter size. This winning combination will increase horsepower and sound great too. Improving the air path between the air filter and the motor is the next big area of improvement.
The K&N Apollo CIS (Closed Intake System) is a universal air intake system incorporating a washable/reusable K&N High Flow Air Filter. The Apollo’s specially designed shape increases volumetric efficiency and provides the benefits of an open cone filter and standard air box all in one unit. Heat build-up is reduced which keeps the intake charge cool. Smooth internal features minimize air turbulence and maximize air flow.
The Apollo’s outer shell is made of a durable lightweight material that helps keep incoming air cool as it enters the engine chamber. K&N’s Apollo system includes a cold air hose with a specially designed radius end cap so cooler outside air can be directed into the engine. It is supplied with a pack of vent adaptors to incorporate most engine breathers and temperature sensors from the original air box assembly back into the Apollo.
Pipercross Air Filters
Pipercross has been making high performance air filters for the motor sport and domestic markets for over 25 years. In these 25 years their high performance filters have helped many race teams win major championships on the British, European and World stage. The development work carried out whilst dealing with these teams has enabled them to produce some of the most technologically advanced filters on the market. Pipercross have also been involved in the development of filters for Formula 1, WRC and BTCC their filters are designed & developed for all levels of street and motorsport use.
Panel Filters: For drivers that require 30% more airflow and a lifetime, washable air filter but without an increase in intake sound, a Pipercross replacement element panel filters provide the perfect solution. Designed as an original equipment replacement, a Pipercross panel filter replaces the factory air filter within the airbox. Installation is as simple as opening the airbox, discarding the old filter and replacing it with a free-flowing Pipercross air filter.
As airborn dirt particles are trapped by a paper or cotton-gauze air filter, there is a dramatic increase in pressure drop which essentially robs the engine of airflow and power. Due to the deep foam construction of each Pipercross air filter, airflow is able to negotiate trapped dirt.
Air filter service intervals are extended with the Pipercross panel filter, with a lifespan (between cleaning) of double that of the same paper filter and nearly three times that of a cotton-gauze filter. By simply cleaning and refitting the Pipercross panel filter, there is less waste and service costs are reduced.

VIPER INDUCTION KIT
Using ‘velocity air force’, each Viper air intake directs cold air directly into the engine. The cold air feed takes air from an area of cold, dense air straight into the Viper’s inlet, swirling it through a unique Pipercross reverse-flow air filter contained within a carbon fiber heat shield, then into a ram pipe to increase the air pressure before feeding it into the induction system.
The carbon fiber heat shield protects the air charge from under bonnet heat keeping it cool -and therefore more dense -thus introducing more oxygen into the combustion mixture, giving increased power.
The reverse flow technology filter and 150mm ram pipe make use of the physical phenomenon of air tending to move towards surface area’s, creating more air flow on the edge rather than in the center of the inlet. The unique design of the filter cone and the inlet ‘tune’ the moving air flow to increase its speed and therefore its pressure maximizing the laminar air flow into the engine, again resulting in increased power.

Double conical design, developed in conjunction with a leading WTCC team, the all-new Pipercross Venom incorporates a new double conical air filter design to increase surface area by over 40% when compared to a standard shaped cone.
The increased surface area has two effects, increased maximum air flow or low restriction for any given volume of air flow and increased dust capacity meaning less cleaning is required. Designed around a high quality polypropylene chassis and heat shield which provides the Venom with an extremely light weight yet durable system. The polypropylene also offers excellent heat protective qualities ensuring the air entering your engine is at its coolest.
